Last night was the coldest October night (-3.4°C) in Coventry since
1997 (-4.3°C) - only two October nights have been colder than last
night in the past 57 years, and only 10 since 1892.
Just for the record, the coldest October night in the city recorded an
overnight minimum temperature of
-4.9°C in 1935.
With a maximum temperature of just 7.4°C on Tuesday, it was the
coldest October day in the city since 1992 (7.0°C); the coldest
October day on record however managed just 2.7°C in 1934.
