Luxury .... !!!

We used to dream of the cold and snow only staying for weeks ..

We had it tough when I were a lad :-)

Experiencing as I did the harsh winters of 1947 and 1963 and the problems
they brought I take little pleasure in the prospect, however remote, of
prolonged cold weather. I know that for some cold weather is enjoyable on
a personal level but generally the problems for many are so obvious that I
won't list them.
Winter wouldn't be winter without some cold spells - but I hope they're
brief. - just enough to kill off a few nasty bugs and insects.

John

Your points are valid John, I agree. Having just missed 1947 and enjoyed
1963 as a thirteen year old I would probably be one that would suffer
(especially with me dodgy arthritic knees!) but I would just like to see
what it would be like in the modern era, compared to then.
