It's usually milder in winter, which may help explain why posters from
there have such a longing for snow. They don't see it very often (except
for those like Will, halfway up Dartmoor).
Incidentally, if you're wondering why there seem to be so many posters
from the SW, it's at least partly because Met Office HQ moved to Exeter
a few years ago, and not surprisingly a number of Met Office employees
post here.
