Hello Everyone,

I know this is a strange question , but I saw
someone asking on a weather site, when did Sussex last have 50 cm of

lying
snow. That is 18 inches or thereabouts.
I have a vague idea. Because if they had that amount, us here in S

cambs
would be close. I say January 1982. Does anyone care to challenge that

one.

Gavin.

Last time I am certain Bedfordshire had 50cm level was March 1947.

Level snow
Cranfield (Beds) 51cm on 6/3/1947 (source DWR)
West Raynham (Norfolk) 51cm 8/3/1947 (DWR)
Forest-in-Teesdale 112cm 6/2/1947 (MWR)

and..Epping (since 1979) a paltry 25cm 9th-13th Feb 1991

All the best
