BBC Mourns Death of Summer

As one who is just about still playing cricket every Sunday afternoon (hence
my paranoia about it always raining on Sunday!) I can confirm that not a
single game has been lost to rain this season although one was cancelled in
May due to a waterlogged ground.

And our club in N.E.Scotland has managed just 12 matches (out of 18
League and 10 friendlies) all season, with only 2 games still to be
played. None lost until the first weekend in June. The poor number of
games played due to weather has been considered noteworthy enough to
attract considerable comment and some press coverage.
