We've had temporary coverings of snow the last two days, but only following
the usual mix of rain/sleet/snow/soft hail showers. *I've seen little
significant lying snow except to the west on ground over 500ft.

Here in Rossendale we have 5cm level snow cover at 950' following this
afternoon's showery activity. Many roads are treacherous with frozen
snow melt (including side roads and the A682 Rawtenstall to Burnley
route). No sign of any gritters. Currently @ 20:55Z:
