Tideswell, Derbyshire - Monday 2nd February 2009
------------------------------------------------------

0630z NNW F3 8000 -SN 8Sc -03.0/-05.0 1006
RMK: Large snowflakes, suggesting significant instability. About 3cm
on the ground. There hasn't been any drifting overnight but the snow
is very powdery and will readily drift if the wind freshens.

0900z NNW F3 8000 HZ RE-SHSN 1St007 3Sc030 -03.1/-05.1 1004
RMK: Continuous snow stopped around 0730z and cloud broke. Now
spells of sunshine with just a brief snow flurry. 4cm on the ground. No
drifting.
09-09z: Tx 0.8 (1135z) Tn -3.5 (1915z) Tg -4.9 (under snow) RR 3.0

1200z NNE F3 3000 -SN 3St008 8Sc020 -02.1/-03.5 1001
RMK: Continuous snow since just after 0900z, sometimes mod/hvy. 6cm on
the ground. Some minor drifting but the wind isn't strong enough for it to
be troublesome yet.

1500z NNE F3-4 0700 SN BLSN OBSC -01.8/-03.3 998
RMK: Looks like today's "big event" is just setting in here. Traffic on our
road
has come to a standstill. Don't know about the main road through the
village. Drifts now about half a metre deep.
