Default [WR] Howhill 3rd Feb 2009

A dull start but about 0900 the sun came out the clouds cleared and it's a
glorious bright clear sunny day over the snow fields.

Where the snow is level we have about a foot (30cm) but with drifts up to
3' (100cm). It did warm up a little late last night on the tail end of the
heavy snow fall that started about 1900. So there is a crust of ice over
the top of the snow. Temp held only just above freezing all night and made
a very bried peak to 1C this morning but since about 1000 (0C) the trend
has been downwards now -2C and the wind is starting to pick up again to
F3.
