Guess I'm a little less brave/stupid now.
On Boxing Day 1962 I drove the 200 miles from Basingstoke in Hampshire to
Cardigan in West Wales in my Mini Van. By the time I got to Swindon about 1 inch
of snow, Gloucester about 3 inches and Radnor Forest in the dark and about 4
inches was 'interesting'. All this time it was snowing quite heavily and didn't
stop until I reached the coast road at Aberystwyth. It took me eight hours
rather than the normal five.
There's no way that I'd do that now and I put that down to lack of bravery.
