These cold spells always have a little surprise up their sleeve.
Enjoy !

Just started in S.Essex, a bit sleety though. Temp +2.6C , DP -0.7C.
Hopefully it will not slide too far Eastwards so that you, my daughter and
Lawrence will see some when you get home to South London from work!

Hello Dave

Well as you know I tend to rant so I've avoided models and UKMO for a
few days, however I did hear young Carol Kirkwood talking of this
band of rain sleet and snow moving south; and this time I felt it was
feasible. Low and behold as I left my office at 4:55 pm there was the
sleet and then snow. So after days of staying away from models it was
and still is as I type a very nice treat.

I have to say this whole winter has had a different feel about it, I
know Will alluded to this very thing back in autumn and I agreed. My
thoughts were just an instinctive feeling based on the fact that the
satellite temps since last Jan had been lower at nearly all levels of
atmosphere and the fact that surely we must get some snow sooner or
later.

It’s stopped here now but the radar seems to promise some more. Its
funny Dave when the real heavy stuff came down last Sunday week I'd
just dropped my daughter back at her lodgings in Holloway and as I
left the snow just started to fall. It really is dreamlike magical
stuff-I can never get enough. I sincerely hope there is more to come
this evening as one of my great pleasures will be to go out for a long
walk, hopefully whilst it’s snowing.
