Default Start of March cold spell next Monday

Will, this has made my day... the "false spring" has been nothing like
spring in my part of the South East. The grey has been almost
unrelenting and the lack of sun has made it feel cold. At least with a
mobile south-westerly we would have seen glimpses of the sun - which is
badly needed to dry out the sodden ground here - and bring on the
struggling bulbs and other plants. Good riddance, I say

Absolutely seconded; it's been dreary to say the least - and the
temperatures have been uninteresting too, except in so far as their
uninterestingness is interesting! Over the last week, every single day
maximum has been between 10.1°C and 12.5°C, while with one single
exception[1] every single night minimum has been between 5.3°C and 7.8°C.

[1] Last Thursday night: min -0.3°C. What a night that was!
