Default Start of March cold spell next Monday

Will, this has made my day... the "false spring" has been nothing like
spring in my part of the South East. The grey has been almost
unrelenting and the lack of sun has made it feel cold. At least with a
mobile south-westerly we would have seen glimpses of the sun - which
is badly needed to dry out the sodden ground here - and bring on the
struggling bulbs and other plants. Good riddance, I say

I have found the last several days most pleasant. It's not windy and not
cold, the nights have been notably mild and the gas consumption has
reduced markedly. The daffodils are standing up again and the scent of
the daphne spills around the garden. The roads are nor covered in
sticky black car-rot, the sun shines every other day and everyone seems
cheerier.

Assuredly it will change but hopefully not back to the dreadful weather
of a few weeks back when we had well over an inch of snow down here in
the Deep South. If the weather is boring then it's in the same way that
the pavement is boring - time to look elsewhere for exitement, perhaps
time to re-catalogue the matchbox collection.
