Avalon Harbor, Santa Catalina Island, CA 1988
During the frequent Santa Ana winds that occur in Southern California every
year the Catalina channel between the mainland and Catalina Island gets
pretty frothed up and can be a violent place. On the mainland we cuss the
wind and chop up the fallen trees and haul them off when it's over but on
Catalina nasty things can happen in the harbor.
This picture is by a local Catalina photographer - Bill Meister - in 1988.
