I thought I'd woken up in an early 80s timewarp last night - very
heavy thunderstorm delivering incredibly heavy rain that lasted only
two minutes over Wanstead, East London - can't remember the time and
the gauge had measured only 2mm this morning...
Wonder if we'll have this all summer?- Hide quoted text -

We're in south central France, and got our first dose of this year's
storms yesterday afternoon. After a warm morning, the wind rapidly
increased to gale force from the south and stayed that way all
morning. After lunch, all hell broke loose and there was very heavy
rain and embedded thunderstorms for the rest of the day, petering out
mid-evening. A good start to the season. The only disadvantage was
that due to the wind, we were without power for several hours...
