Dorset is even odder than that, as I'm sure you know. I visited some
friends in the village on Sunday morning. When I left here, there was
damp in the air, but not exactly misty or drizzly. When I reached my
friends on East Hill, about 600 metres away, it was blowing a hooly
(?sp) and raining quite hard. Yet apparently the conditions had not
changed. These deep valleys seem to have a disproportionate effect on
the weather.
