Does rather depend what you mean by the SE.

An interesting question that, Brian. I'm never quite sure and it seems to
vary depending on the agency. Places like Godalming I always think of as
Southern England. I am often in Eastern England or the South of the Anglian
region. Geographically I think of the S.E as a kind of ark (not! - sorry
arc) from Chelmsford round to Maidenhead and down to about the East Sussex
coast.
