I am having exactly the same problems as you Brian even the hover
over place names and everything is fine bit. What is firefox ??

I tried it on my work PC today (Windows 2000 running IE) and it
behaved exactly the same way. However we appear to be in a minority
of two! I thint the MetO techies need to have a look at this one.

I should get Firefox. It's free and seems more responsive than IE.
(Step also works.)

I've had problems as well with the MO rainfall animation. I've
deleted the temp internet files, and it doesn't solve the problem.
I find that the animation works once and then I have to reload the
animation for it to work.

It may be something to do with line contention, as I find that it does
work in the dead of night say about 1/2am. But not in the daytime. It
may be something to do with the MO server. perhaps they don't want
bods from the west midlands accessing there site. ;-)

Yes I have noticed that when you click on "play", often it's very slow and
some images are skipped altogether. Although IHTS that's far more likely
with IE than Firefox.

However it gets worse. Now all of the images are showing the dreaded "red
cross". Methinks that there is something seriously wrong with their software
at present. Let's hope they fix it - I really wanted to know when the
current (Manchester) band of rain would clear :-)

Anybody know of an email address for contacting their techies?
