Yes, I think you're right, possibly just as warm in Devon/Cornwall on
Wednesday as well, that cold front is going to struggle a bit to get
down here.
I hope so. Today reminded me of something we had precious little of last
year. I went down the beach to have lunch and there was hardly a breath of
wind, and what was blowing was off the land. It felt hot and quite humid
sitting out in the sun. It's a pity I didn't have time to join all the
people swimming.
Blimey, now (19:30) 16.4C. Shows how quickly the top 2 or 3 feet can
warm in unbroken sunshine and still conditions, not just over the
beaches, but some distance offshore.
The SSTs here in the western half of Lyme Bay reached 15.8°C this afternoon
but obviously the sea was much warmer nearer the shore.
A perfect, warm evening here now with little or no wind and a cloudless sky
to end the day. Just about 15 hours of sunshine today.
(20:55), 21.6°C, RH 54%, DP 12.0°C, 1024 hPa (R), Wind calm.
