Default Spiders and AWS rain gauges don't mix.
Wondered why my AWS rain guage had been giving stupid rate readings and
didn't see any of the moderate rain the other day:

The web was holding the buckets almost horizontal so a bit of vibration
would generate a stream of pulses and thuse silly high rain rate.
