Default Penzance 9th/10th

A thoroughly miserable & very cool day yesterday.
Quite windy, Force 4-5 SE
Quite wet, 6.5mm to 09:00 today - all falling in daylight hours
yesterday (The 1st signinficant rain here this month).
Very Cool, max just 13.6C, the lowest June max since 13.5C on 26/6/97.

What a relief to wake up to sunshine this morning. Already (09:30)
above yesterday's max.

I see the BBC have just realised there were loads of basking sharks
off west Cornwall last week. /www.newssniffer.co.uk/articles/225829/

Hard to see apparently! With 30 of them swimming around in calm
conditions you'd have had to have been blind not to see them. Also
hardly the 1st sighting, they were off Sennen in March. The first
sighting of large numbers normally coincides with the 1st hot spell,
as that's when the come close in. Commonly close enough to swim with
at Porthcurno, and occasionally, as last week, at Sennen.
