The mercury reached 18C at my Surrey station with just a trace of
rain. I
noticed on a journey to Twyford in Berks that there had been a heavier
burst
of rain with puddles alongside the M3 in the Ligh****er area and
thence
north towards Bracknell at lunchtime. But the basic forecast I think
was not
too bad

from my weather diary:
20th: idr(slight) ~07Z; further dr(slight) during morning, then r
1115-1125Z, dry thereafter;
total rainfall 09Z - 18Z /20th = 1.6mm, all from the 1115-1125Z event,
which I judged to be associated with the upper front on one of the EXO
charts shown: Cloud broke well in afternoon - fine sunshine, but a brisk
wind.
