Thunder heard from 16.30. Frequent T & L from 17.20 to 18.05. Four
loud bangs of thunder (Rumble ain't the word!) that shook the house.

Dry all day down here. The sun disappeared after about 17.00, but we
didn't get a spot of rain, which actually rather surprised me. Until
about 18.00 there were rumbles now and again from the north, though they
never came particularly close. I wasn't able to get high enough up to
look for distant lightning.
