Thanks Colin. Wisley appears to have ended up warmest at 31.8C. Only
1.5C off the date record for 30th June (Torro). Very interesting today
that a fohn appears to be blowing on the N.Wales coast. Prestatyn has
achieved 30C at 1309 today and is the warmest place in the UK (XC
weather). It would be very unusual for that coast to achieve a UK date
record in summer - though it is certainly not unusual in winter where
Aber holds a number of date records - but could today be the
exception? Perhaps a sea breeze will scupper that very shortly; along
the coast, Ros on SE is recording a Northerly at 1309 (XC weather).
Today's date record is 34.8C (Torro). Maybe today's highest temp won't
reach that, but it could be close!
Tudor - do you still feel the conditions for a heatwave are not in
place? *))- Hide quoted text -

The sea breeze killed any chance of very high temperatures. The
temperature at Prestatyn has dropped by 4C and a Northerly sea breeze
has set in there too. It must be a lovely day there, though - as it is
in Dawlish.
