To think, in August last year, the temperature never reached 20C at

And here. August has often 'saved the day' in poor summers but not last
year, it was dire and very depressing.

This June has been so different and has felt like a proper summer month
after the let-downs of 2007 & 2008.

A max of 28.0°C today after an overnight low of 15.7°C.

SST in Lyme Bay reached 19.2°C this afternoon. As in Mount's Bay, this is
higher than anything achieved for the whole of last year's summer.

(19:25), 24.7°C, RH 42%, DP 11.3°C, 1020 hPa (F), Wind 2 mph E.

My missus keeps saying this is a really great summer so far! It's good
and Philip's analysis for June points to the SW having some of the
best of it.
