Overnight thunderstorms, thunder rumbling most of the time from 02:00
to 08:30, but just 3.8mm of rain. This makes 1st July the 1st 'rain
day' since 17th June. Soil still dry under some trees, and water butts
only 25% full. All seems to be clearing eastward now, I was hoping for
at least double figure rainfall, just to give the garden a decent
water. June was the driest month here since March 2000.

Minimum temperature last night was 17.3C.
