Max of 29.4=EF=BF=BDC here at 15:23z with two isolated showers giving a t=
otal of 0.4mm.
At 09:00z, the temperature was 22.3=EF=BF=BDC with a dew point of 18.7=EF=
=BF=BDC and RH of 80%.
It felt quite unpleasant.
Currently, 26.6=EF=BF=BDC with a dp of 16.5=EF=BF=BDC and RH of 54%.
Lesley was in Gartmore this afternoon where Main Street was flooded after=

Southwest radio reporting that the max today at Eskdalemuir (28.7) was
only a degree
below their all time maximum set in 1976 (records back 100 years).
Given the height of Eskdalemuir (800'), I reckon this equates to about
31 deg in the likes
of Lockerbie or Dumfries.

Indeed. In Moffat the maximum in our (very sheltered and not at all
representative) back garden was 31 with a mercury in glass thermometer
screwed to a north facing wall. I haven't yet offloaded the logger to
see what the Stevenson Screen temperature was. We're at 120 m ASL.
I really don't want a repeat of that - and late last night with windows
wide open we were being invaded by midges too.
