That really is impressive! How does it compare with your record hourly
rainfall? Can't be far off, surely.

Hi, David,

All new territory for me! After 50+ years' recording there are still
surprises.
Rain isn't top of my list, so I don't track records but I'm sure the
Environment Agency will let me know eventually. They have a recording
gauge on-site that is linked to a river level warning system in the
area. Unfortunately my system went haywire and all AWS recording was
lost for the whole event, but as you suggest, it must be my highest
hourly fall and scanning my Davis graphs, nothing seems to come near.
It turns out I have been lucky as most of the village still has no
telephone or internet. Several TV sets were ruined by lightning and
many homes flooded. It seems that even at 1000ft we are still not safe
from flooding! Electricity is now restored to most houses.
We have another Met O severe weather warning now as the rain pours
again. The last one was pretty good!!!!

Best wishes,
Ken
