Got a new electronic barometer. Nothing hugely expensive. Anyway, I'm

nearest observations" it says 1005mb. That's 23km away in Belfast, but
is quite a bit off the reading I have, which matches the Met Office

Oh... and on the BBC site the "Coastal Observations" page for Larne

1016mb, which once again is in line with me, so I'm putting the other
1005mb observation into the category of "not useful" unless someone
advises me otherwise!

The 1950 observation at Belfast Aldergrove airport gives a reading of
1022mb.
Given that you're only 23km away, I'd say that was good enough unless
there
is a strong pressure gradient ocross the region, i.e.a deep low passing
through.

The city airport, Belfast Harbour on wunderground, is roughly half way
between you and Aldergrove. It's showing 1021 mb which suggests you
should be pretty close to 1020 mb.


Thanks.. have set it to 1020mb. Does anyone know if Bangor Harbour on that
site is Bangor NI (6 miles away from me) or Bangor in North Wales? I'm
guessing it's the Coastguard HQ in Bangor NI...
