A cooler day yesterday, with very limited sunshine. Max 19.7C making

humidity was much lower, so no mistiness, in fact the visiblity was
very good.
It's been largely sunny since 09:30, when the patchy sc broke and
moved away eastwards, now seems largey reduced to a band over Devon.
Back to the small cumulus inland/sunny coast regime down here. With
the sunshine warming up again after a cooler night than for some days

so should be a warm mainly sunny afternoon here. The air certainly
seems to be inherently warmer in Cornwall than this mornings forecasts
suggested.

One feature of this summer has been the predominance of days when the
warmest spots in Cornwall (& Scilly) have been right on the coast
rather than inland, and also near the SW tip of the County. A
reflection of the large amounts of cloud there have been just inland,
and the fact that the sea temperature has been near or rather above
normal near the Cornish coast much of the summer. SST now near 18C
even in the strong tidal currents around the Sevenstones.
Current temperatures are a good example.
Scilly St Marys 20C, St Martins 21C
Penzance 20.8C at my site, 20C at the seafront heliport.
