I dont notice many other changes which could be described as weather
dependent; just seasonal.
It's mostly for the non foods stuff. Clothing for instance. Should they
stock light jackets or waterproof jackets? etc. All those products are
typically bought 3-9 months in advance, which is why you don't actually
see much changes when the weather changes.
I must be one of a strange non-conforming minority then, because if I
see it raining outside in summer I do not rush to the supermarket and
buy a waterproof jacket. I already have one which I used through the
winter.
However, I must accept this is how supermarket shoppers react. But, if
the following weeks' forecast is for hot and sunny what happens to the
unsold waterproof jackets, when they are removed to make way for t-
shirts and light jackets? Are they sent back to the distribution
centre?
If so, I understand why there are so many HGVs on the road.
I mourn the demise of the good old stock room.
