As per title - this afternoon and eveniong's rain event seems to have
just come to a close here, so I've been out to the rain guage.

29.1mm is recorded so far, with 3 hours to go before the end of my
"rain day" (00h - 00h). It's currently dry so that may be the lot and
it will be the wettest day here since 9th February this year.

*I was out and about for several hours in my car during this event,
let's just say the roads and motorways near me were "interesting".

Fareham (West)

I thought it had been the wettest day for "some time" down the road in
Southampton, but the rain only seemed particularly heavy between about
1800 to 1930BST, and only light or moderate the rest of the time - so
I'd be surprised if there was that much. Nonetheless, despite the
indifferent summer, I'm struggling to remember a day as wet as this
since mid May here. Possibly the wettest day I've experienced this
year was July 18th - but that was in Bavaria.
