I reckon here in 'dry' lowlands of south east Devon it can get pretty arid
too. The last 3 summers have not been typical.
I think my mean monthly rainfall for the summer months are lower for this
location than many parts of the SE. I remember posting something a while ago
about this.
The summers of 2005 & 2006 had the grass go brown and stop growing from
early June until mid-September. Things were also pretty desperate here this
year from May until early July with the lawns brown and soils dust-dry..
Then it rained and rained, and rained..........
Everything now quite dry again, but the sun's too weak to scorch the lawn.
