Extraordinarily grey day in Southampton today, more like mid December
than mid September in the middle part of the day (though obviously a
good deal warmer). Also was dark enough to put on indoor lights at
19:15, about 20 minutes earlier than normal.

However I've heard reports from various places not a huge distance
from here, Heathrow on the MetO site and Bicester (someone ringing in
on the radio) of sunshine in the early evening. Still not reached
here, no sign of Jupiter out of the window. So how extensive was the
grey today?
