Surge protection will protect your computers and instruments against
electrical surges and nothing more. What you really need is a UPS
(uninterruptable power supply) that has power smoothing capability to
ensure your equipment is not bothered by electrical noise on the wires.


Got one of those! But I'm not sure how much it protects against blips
and dropouts on the supply.
