Not sure if it's the case elsewhere, but here (Southampton) it's
incredibly dark for the time of day (0845) - I know we're now getting
towards winter, but it must be more than an hour after sunrise - and
in the south of England it's rarely this dark this late even in
December.

Ditto Evershot (WDorset).

Just dull here, not dark, but I was woken up by thunder this morning! I woke
up, wondered why, and then heard a rumble of thunder. Checked the time and
it was ten to three. I couldn't really believe it then and don't see that it
was possible. Perhaps I'm suffering from a deficit of thunderstorms this
year and my subconscious is supplying them for me when my resistance is at
its lowest.
