14.2mm of rain overnight, but it cleared eastwards around 08:00 with

now become a Force 2-3 S just behind the front.
I see there's a heavy rain weather warning for Cornwall & the Isles of
Scilly from 10:00-15:00. It's been & gone here, and will have cleared
most of Cornwall by 10:00. *Heavy rain here was 04:00-07:00.
The warning was issued at 08:00 - shouldn't it be issue before rather
than after the event?

Penzance
Flooding in this part of Cornwall, a combination of high tide and drains
blocked by fallen leaves. Whatever caused it, the result was chaos on the
local roads as many drivers tried to find an alternative route.http://www..falmouthpacket.co.uk/new..._rain_causes_f...

I've just read the full article. I think the delays to the train
service in/out of Penzance were probably due to the sea overtopping,
rather than the rainfall. It was a big spring tide this morning
around 06:00, and there was no particularly intense rain here.
It's amazing how quickly everything has calmed down, showing that
although the sea was rough, there was little real swell
