I've talked about this with a friend's father, a very knowledgeable
football fan (a Stoke follower, for what it's worth) who said a fair
part of their fanbase was post-Munich. And then the 3rd wave of prawn
sandwichers in the 1990s.

I don't have a leg to stand on, though - I'm a glory-hunter as well,
only my current team isn't as lofty as the aforementioned United and
is currently doing woefully under the guidance of one of their Premier
