Wonderful Bob. What FL Lens did you use ?

Crazy Ed

"Bigma" 50~500 on an old Minolta 7D DSLR. Effective focal length is
75~750; great air show lens! (aside from the hernia carrying it
around...)

I max out at 210mm fl for my DSLR - Hummmmm 50 - 500 sounds like Fun!

The "green flash" image is a full res crop from a subsequent image.

I've seen the Green Flash several times over Monterey Bay from Fremont
Peak State Park in Calif. Although a Very Nice shot it isn't a Green Flash.
When you capture a Green Flash the Sun will have set just moments prior to
you seeing it.

Well, ackshirley...

well worth a bookmark!)

A sharp temperature discontinuity in the atmosphere can cause green
flash while the sun is still above the horizon. I'm thinking the
rapid change in temp that sometimes occurs above forested areas may be
behind what I caught.
