Wrong!
LATEST:Hurricane Ida which killed more than 120 in El Salvador
downgraded to tropical storm
Ida was nothing to do with the flooding in El Salvador.
.... it's not clear admittedly, but 'Ida' made an initial approach due NW
towards the mountain regions of NW Nicaragua and Honduras (before
'jinking' away towards the Yucatan peninsula), producing high rainfall
in these countries, as well as enhancing the tropical weakness on the
Pacific side of the isthmus - I think that the high rainfall in the
central mountains, coming after earlier heavy rain, has caused these
tragedies. The southern watershed off the Honduras mountains is through
El Salvador.
