The lights went out at 1638, followed a few seconds latter by an
almighty crash and roll of thunder. Power returned after a 9 second
abscence.

Peering out it was absolutly chucking it down, it may have been
raining before but not at that rate the noise of the water pouring
down the downspouts is very noticeable. The AWS indicated 90mm/hr...

Only a couple of degree drop in temperature, the wind dropped from
F4/F5 to F2 for a few minutes. There were a few further flashes if
lighting.
