28.5 mm 1800-1800Z 23 Nov. at Wembury.
Surprising amount at this 'no orographic enhancement' location. Even
Postbridge at 369 m on Dartmoor only had 34 mm.
Not well forecast. Seemed to be some beefed up convergence during the
morning at the trough.
You don't always get orographic enhancement Len. I swap monthly rainfall
data with friends around Devon and occasionally Ivybridge gets more than me.
Usually Exeter is lowest though, except last summer when they caught a
thunderstorm.

I know I don't always get orographic enhancement Will. I try my best
though.
I think the wind direction explains why there was not much enhancement
for higher locations in Devon.
It was due west, gusting gale force. Enhancement may be better with a
more southerly component to the wind.
