Recording started in 1983. *I've no doubt this is some way short of a
UK record. *One has to be careful with the definition of a rain-day.
The normal criterion is 0.2 mm but a day with 0.1 mm or "trace" can
still be damp and drizzly.

Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, NE Surrey, 556 ft.

Longest spell here, by an appreciable margin, was 41 days ending 16th
of January 1994. This is the longest spell without a rain day (0.2mm
or more). There are no other spells 30 days.

Yes, I remember 1993/94 as being continuously wet (see post from about
two weeks back) and how rare completely dry days were.
In Southampton (which is usually relatively dry compared to places
further north and west) I only recall one completely rain-free day
this month (though any rain between approx 0000 and 0730 would go
undetected) though I'd imagine November 2000 and 2002 also both had a
similar lack of dry days.
