.... that even 10C feels cold this late in the year. Was in various
places yesterday (Sat) that apparently got a max of around 10C from
Reading to the Midlands and in all cases it felt decidedly cold and
bleak. I guess I'm so used to persistent temps of around 12-13C in the
Southampton area that any drop from that feels relatively cold.

For a similar reason November didn't seem especially mild, except
round the 20th - just very very wet. Again habituation to the high
temperatures in October, which then did drop, though still to above
the seasonal norm, would account for this.
