Default GFS parallel suite ....

Given all the interest at the moment in the extended range models, you
might be interested to know that you can get 'two for the price of
one' as regards the GFS package.

Currently, NCEP/EMC are running a parallel GFS suite, with upgraded
data assimilation & some other tweaks, and you can view these runs
(about 90 mins after the current version) via:-

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php

this link presents the current operational GFS model, or select

[ Run parallèle ] from the menu at the top for the parallel output.

They're also beginning to appear on the plumes ... this is for a point
in the London area ....

Apparently the new GFS formulation will be declared the operational
model sometime in January.

Martin.
