Thanks Mike; obviously my memory has failed me- spare my blushes!Although,
to be fair, only Moscow, Warsaw
and Helsinki were east of 20 degrees east.


I thought your memory was indeed very good and what you posted accurate, as
*I* had to check my charts and diary to find the figures:-) It was around
then that the really cold air was pushing westwards, with a cold front
lying from S Norway through S.Scotland, Wales and Cornwall to eastern
Spain.
