Turning particularly chilly in Helsinki now
and interestingly Amsterdam with a maximum of -1.3°C, I wonder if fog
was involved here?

Brussels and Paris also getting chilly, with maxes of 0.0 and 0.8
respectively. The last few days have shown just how quickly the
continent can cool down once the Atlantic feed is cut off, even without
any advection of really cold air from further east or north.

Still somewhere to go before any advection will have a marked affect.

Yep.
