Default Different planet

It's been chucked it down all day here in mid-Norfolk. Constant rain, windy...
The stream at the end of the garden is a tad high. So I go to the BBC weather
pages to look at the forecast... to decide if I need to start moving
possessions ;-)

Apparently today's forecast is for light showers... perhaps this is a forecast
for a different planet!

Perhaps you are missing the point. The computer models are always right.
It's your local weather that's wrong :-)

More seriously, my subjective gut feeling is that over the past 6 months
or so the forecasts issued to Joe Public via the BBC have often been of
very poor accuracy, at least as far as the bit of the country where I
have been located. The often quoted 85 percent accuracy for 24-hour
forecasts has certainly not been applicable to the last 6 months.
