I would like to learn more about the weather, and have followed this
group for the last 3 years or so. The trouble is, when you
knowledgeable people talk about GFS runs and the like, my poor old
head begins to hurt, as I am still a raw beginner.

Without trying to offend anyone here, please could a kind soul point
me in the direction to learn about weather and how I interprete the
links to maps and the like that are sometimes posted?

I have searched around the 'Net many times to try not to ask, but I
have decided that it is now time to ask here where the experts live.
Would anyone be prepared to share knowledge, links, anything, to help
me, a very willing and interested beginner please?

Tony(UK)

Tony, I'd suggest your first port of call is http://weatherfaqs.org.uk/
and in particular http://weatherfaqs.org.uk/node/140

If you get stuck don't be afraid to ask.

Jon.

Many thanks, Jon. I never gave it a thought to put uk.sci.weather into
Google. A terrific resource, and I'll be reading the whole site!
