It is incredibly still outside and the temp has now just crept down to
-6: it reached -6.1C this morning.

I dont expect it to get much lower - or will it..

My record is -9.2c last Feb

However, the neighbours outside stop cock has failed and water has
been pouring across the road from an area just one foot from my front
door. Wessex have put a vast amount of brine down to reduce ice....
The whole village is suffering from problems of very water high
pressure and at least six stop cocks have failed even though some of
these are only months old

Inside the stove has been working hard and I now have reached 16C so
things are looking up since the low of 5C yesterday.

I am beginning to think that we might get a dusting tomorrow evening
