Colder air behind.
It catches up with remnants of a weak warm / occluded front by T+24 around
the midlands and hits the SE at T+36 approx. Now, occluded fronts mean
cloud and precipitation. So with this large, cold mass of air behind it
associated precip. *will be snow. And possibly large amounts...
